Ragamuffin Cats - Breed Clubs and Registries

The RagaMuffin Associated Group is a parent club for the breed in the United States. It takes care of the RagaMuffin cat and guides breeders and owners who should follow the code of ethics developed by the RAG. Only responsible breeders and owners who care for the welfare of the RagaMuffin cat can become the members of the RAG.

The RagaMuffin Association Group is instrumental in supplying breeders and owners with newsletters, kitten inventory, pedigree information, breeder referrals, and advice. Besides, it registers new litters and provides support network for RagaMuffin breeders and owners. RagaMuffin cats are currently accepted by the AACE (American Association of Cat Enthusiasts), ACFA (The American Cat Fanciers Association), CFA (The Cat Fancier's Association), and CFF (the Cat Fancier's Federation), and UFO (United Feline Organization).

These registries maintain the characteristics of the breed by registering only high quality cats. According to these registries' standards, there are some points that should discourage breeders from breeding their cats and are usually penalized if the cat is shown. Thus, pointed or small ears are unacceptable in the breed, so are the nose break and the Roman nose. The tail should not be too short and the undercoat should not be cottony. Overall, RagaMuffin cats should be sweet and healthy.
